Wedding Bride Heart Cookies (Tutorial)

My sweet first born daughter got married in September.

When making these bride and groom heart cookies for her and her new husband,
I wanted to emulate her bridal gown as much as possible.

Depending on the design you're going for......will determine how to decorate the bride cookies.
I chose to make some horizontal "pleats" and then add a fancy filigree with sanding sugar.

Outline and flood the cookie with white (or ivory) 10-second glaze.
Be sure to leave a "cleavage" on the heart.

To get the pleated look, allow the cookies to dry for an hour or two and
add lines with a cake tester.

For the sparkly filigree, pipe white icing in a scroll-y fashion,
and then sprinkle white sanding sugar and white glitter crystals on top.
Shake off the excess.
(The cool little sanding tray is from here.)

Very simple.....and yet elegant in it's own right.

Wedding Shower Dresses & Tuxes

I was asked to do the cute little heart cookies with bride dresses and groom tuxes. I had done them a LONG time ago, just for the fun of it, but this time I got to do them for an order. Fun!

The client didn't want tuxes.....but rather suits with ties. I did my best......but there still a bit sloppy. Precision is definitely not something I've mastered with glaze.

But the client was happy.....and that is all that matters, right? :)

I'm staying inside today.....doing cookies of course. ;) The heat index was 112 yesterday.....and is supposed to be as bad or worse today. Yikes!
