Coffee Shop Decorated Cookie Collection

For all the coffee lovers in my life......I created a set of cookies to celebrate this glorious hot drink and it's favorite companions. :)

Neon Sign Styled Decorated Cookies (Tutorial)

Have you ever found a graphic or photo that emulate a style that you became giddy about?
In the last year, I found a graphic showing this neon sign style (I think they called it "colored chalk style") that I instantly knew I had to cookie-fy.

This method is super easy and fast since you don't have to actually outline and flood the entire cookie and then add additional layers of icing.

Start with chocolate cut-out dough, and cut and bake any shape that will be recognizable by just adding a few outlines/silhouette.
In the set shown, the theme was coffee related, so I picked the shapes accordingly.

Once the cookies are baked and cooled, combine vodka (or a clear extract, ex. almond) and Americolor Super Black gel to make a "paint" to cover the tops of each cookie. Brush the opaque mixture over each cookie and allow it to dry for a few hours before adding the glaze.

Use bright "electric" colors of glaze to add the outlines and single detail lines to each cookie.

Jill & Joe's Wedding Cookie Collection

A SECOND wedding for the year...... my oldest daughter, Jill, married Joe in September.

It was a fabulous occasion.
And we had lots and lots of cookies!

Jill & Joe's theme for cookies was quite a bit different than Allison & Jake's.
Rather than the rustic, vintage feel......they went for a more traditional set.

Personalization is the best part of decorating cookies for special events.
I was able to make some of their favorite things per their request.

For the cookie favors placed at the table settings for the reception, there were four different cookies.

First, lace heart cookies to match the navy/fuchsia wedding colors.
(Here is the tutorial for the lace heart cookies when done for Allison's wedding.)

Next, monograph cookies.......simple and appropriate. :)

And finally, the groom and bride heart cookies.

And then I did a set of cookies just for Joe and Jill.

They love coffee. :)

Jill loves penguins.

Joe has planned all his life to own a dachshund and name him Buddy.
Now it is Joe AND Jill's plan to do so in the next couple years. :)

Here is their whole set of personalized cookies in a beautiful BRP box.

Random Cookie Shapes....Coffee Cup, T-Shirt, ILoveYou SL, & Soda Bottle

Sometimes the grouping of cookies I do holds no theme.
This post is just such a time.

Random.
Random..
Random.... :)

Winter Drink Collection 2011

Here's the last of my winter drink cookies. My fave is the snowman cup..........I'm sure you are surprised by that. ;)

And here's the whole collection together......

I still have one more winter collection to show you......plus lots of info on how I do my corn syrup glaze icing and how I decorate.

My son, Neil, is still on his 15 hr flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. I'm sure he will be THRILLED to get off that plane. :) Lots of exciting days ahead for him.
Get ready for a very fun January give-away announcement coming in the next couple of days. I'm stunned that Ecrandal Originals would be so generous!
