Personal Side

It was an ordinary week......which is fine by me.
Nothing dramatic or distinctive..... just life. :)
I'm thankful for the status quo in light of the craziness of things in our country and the world.

Today I'm working on some fun cookies for a two-year-old's birthday party.
It gave me a chance to use some cute animal cutters I'd been wanting to try out.
It's always fun to make personalized cookies for a special someone.

Less than four weeks until we take off for Ukraine.
Once we return, it will suddenly be September.
Oh my, it never ceases to amaze me how time accelerates exponentially with each day.
Just a reminder to myself to enjoy the ride. :)

Time for a road trip?

Attempting some layered "scrapbook-y" looking cookies for a summer road trip set.
I ❤️ Lisa's style. (SewLoveTheDay)
These didn't turn out half as cute as I'd envisioned, but it's always worth a try.

Sharing some cookie love......Happy Sunday!

Road Sign Decorated Cookies

I'm doing a road trip cookie theme to celebrate summer vacation.
Road signs seemed the perfect addition to such a theme.
Trying to emulate road signs on a cookie is really not terribly hard.
Of course, since I didn't use the KopyKake, these are far less than perfect in lettering and spacing.
(And I mistakenly thought I had the right shape for a stop sign! haha
P.S. A stop sign is not a hexagon, it's an octagon.)
But it's amazing how just using the right colors and shapes make these somewhat recognizable.

Start by looking up standard road signs in clipart online.

Next, pick out shapes that match the signs.

Outline and flood them in the basic colors of icing.

And then while staring at the graphics (haha), add the text and outlines.
