Ice Cream Scoop Cookies (Tutorial)

I have a thing about the cute-ness of a scoop of ice cream.
I love how it is big round ball with waves of drippy-ness around the bottom.

I'm not aware of an ice cream scoop cookie cutter......
so I improvised and found some shapes that worked.

How about an oval with some scallops cut out of the bottom?
Or maybe strategically re-purpose a large santa or snowman cutter.
Who would have thought?!  :)

Outline and flood the cookie in your choice color of 10-second glaze.

Allow to dry for about 30 minutes and then outline and flood the bottom "ruffle"
for a second layer......adding some dimension.

If desired, add some sprinkles, chocolate chips, or nuts.

You can also add another layer of glaze of to each of the scallops in the scoop.
(see photo below)

This photo shows how I airbrushed brown color on the side of the scoops.
I wasn't thrilled with the results, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

Add a few cone cookies to the mix......
and you've got some awesome ice cream cones!
