New House Closing Day Decorated Cookie Collection

My daughter and son-in-law bought their first home this spring. I was happy to oblige Allison’s request to make some special thank you cookies for their realtor and financial advisor.

What a fun way to commemorate this special time in their lives. I love how my cookie photos become a scrapbook of memories.

Happy closing day, Jake & Allison! Welcome home.

Moving Box Cookie (Tutorial)

Lots of questions about how the
moving box cookie is done,
so.............

To make Moving Box Cookies you'll need:

Outline box cookie with tan glaze.
Allow to dry for 20-30 minutes.
Then flood the entire box with tan glaze.

Allow to dry overnight.

 If desired,
write on the boxes with a

Combine almond extract with a drop of
Bright White gel.

Brush along the top seam
and partially down the side of the box.
(like a piece of packing tape)

There you have it......some boxes
ready to move into the new house. :)

Realtor Thank You Cookie Collection

The rest of the Realtor Thank You Cookie Collection.....

The cookie request was to make cookies
to thank my friend's realtor who
worked hard and went to bat for them
like a "bull dog" to make the
purchase of the new home happen.

My favorite.......used clipart when I Googled the subject
 that showed something similar. :)

House Key Cookie (Tutorial)

Some have asked how to make keys
like I made in the

Thankfully, I just happened to take
photos for a tutorial on making keys. :)

To make house key cookies you will need:

** Note: I couldn't find a regular shaped key cookie cutter,
so I hand cut these cookies.
My suggestion to you is to Google "house key"
and find a key shape like this one,
print it out, and then follow my instructions

Outline the key cookie with grey glaze.
Be sure to add the key hole outline at the top.
Allow to dry for 20-30 minutes.

Flood key with silver glaze. (sorry no photo)

Allow cookie to dry for about 1 hr.
Press a long thin (clean!) object
into the partially dried glaze to
make some realistic key grooves.
I used my handy dandy cake tester. :)

Allow the cookie to dry overnight.

Brush a combination of silver luster dust
and almond extract onto the keys
to give them a nice silver sheen.

And there you have some silver shiny keys
to use for a house warming, realtor thank you,
or various other custom cookie collections. :)

New Home/ Moving Cookies

Some friends sold their house
(after nearly two years on the market!)
and asked me to do a thank you cookie set for
their realtor that finally sold the house.
That was back in the fall.

same friends were moving into their new home.
And once again.....
they wanted a cookie set to thank their current realtor.

The realtor's name is Team Hiller.
My friend wanted me to change one of the signs to
say "Team Killer!" since her
realtor went to bat for them
over and over again.
