Woodsy Valentine Decorated Cookie Collection

A little different take on Valentines Day.

It gets more and more challenging to think of new ways to decorate heart cookies. :) This woodsy set falls in the UNIQUE category for my many Valentines cookies. hee hee

This is another holiday that I LOVE decorating cookies for. So you’ll be seeing more Valentines cookies……I’ll probably do a traditional style along with attempts at some unique designs.
Stay tuned…

Woodland Fall Decorated Cookie Collection

Remember the warning about my obsession with autumn cookies....... here's my THIRD set of the season. And this is by far is my favorite. Those colors......and those molded clay pieces.....LOVE!

Cookie decorating doesn't have to be super complex. Using lots of silicone molds with edible clay allows you to create extraordinary cookies without exhausting effort. There seems to be a growing demand for molds......and therefore....so many new ones to choose from. I found a wonderful source for silicone molds HERE. Check them out!

My last (and favorite) fall set of the season.....promise!

Just Froggy Cookie Collection

With all those happy frog faces.....there needed to be some cattails, lotus flowers,
dragonflies, mushrooms, and lily pads. :)

Can you hear the happy rib-bits coming from the pond?

Autumn in the Country Cookie Collection

I think this is my favorite set of autumn cookies so far this season.
There's something about the grouping and colors that just delights my heart.

I hope you are enjoying the season. :)

I love how this set turned out.....beyond my expectations. ♥

Fence cookie (far right) done using this plaque cutter from PlasticsinPrint.

Favorites for sure!
Both cookies done using SugarBelle's school bus cutter.

Mushroom Cookies (Tutorial)

Mushrooms..... new cookies for me.
They are so popular and I've always loved looking at them.....but didn't have a mushroom cutter.

Well......you don't have to have one. :)

Just take an oval cutter and a rectangle (or square) cutter and mushrooms appear.

Colors are entirely up to you.
Start by piping the inside and stem of the mushroom (as seen below).

Allow the "insides" to dry for a bit before flooding the stem.
This gives it a bit more dimension.

Allow that to dry for a while
(even longer if you are using RED glaze....which tends to bleed).

To make the mushroom inside "wedge" lines.....
use a long tool (like my handy cake tester) to add character to partially dried glaze.

Next comes the outline and flood for the mushroom top.
Polka-dots are optional.
(Although I go with polka-dots ANY chance I get!)

For a final detail, add a accent line to the bottom rim of the mushroom top
and another half circle to the bottom of the stem (as shown below).

Another entry into the book called "Cookies That Make Me Smile".  =)
