CookieCrazie's Week in Review

Personal Side

It's been a good week for me.
I'm extremely thankful for my life and all I get to do.
Sometimes I just need to stop and reflect and think about how much God has blessed me.
There's so much around us that's not good.....
and often the future looks so bleak that I want to run and hide.
But then I think about today and how amazing TODAY is.
And I know that God will be there....and guide me through whatever the future holds.

I got to work on a fun cookie project this week.
It originally was going to be a simple tutorial set.....haha.
It turned out to be a pretty large multifaceted set of cookies.
Nevertheless.....I had such fun decorating.....and can't wait to show you all the collections.

Next week I'll need to take a break from decorating to work hard on the
Bible study for the Ukraine women's retreat.
I was hoping there would be a pre-existing Bible study to match the theme picked.
But once again....I'm compiling it myself.
That wasn't the desire.....but it looks as though it is necessary.
So I need to hoard my time next week and pull together as much of the study as I can.
I leave for England and Ukraine in just two months.
The time is going to zip by.....so I really need to get prepared as quickly as possible.

I'm so excited about this trip.
Things are happening that I did not expect.
And I know that God is going to do amazing things, as always.

Thanks so much for being here.
Any of you that are still reading this post are my most loyal friends.
I realize that my "Chatter".....is just that.
But some how.....writing this personal post each week is therapeutic for me.
So thanks for sticking with me in my CRAZIE-ness.
:)

Instagram photos for this week:

Haha..... Taking photos today. =)

Basket of flower cookies....

The snowiest day we've had in years.....maybe decades (we'll see....after it stops tomorrow).
Thunder snow......it is the strangest, yet coolest phenomenon.
I'm lovin' this lazy Sunday afternoon. :)

Another mason jar cookie.....

It's official. We got 13" of snow in the last 24 hours. I'm lovin it!
And they are predicting sunny and 61 for Easter Sunday.
It may be wet.....
but my young adult kids will still be able to have their beloved egg hunt outside. :)
 Colored dough flower cookies.....
I'm not sure I love them, but at least they are easy to decorate. ;)

Fun multifaceted project.....first set started. This is going to be a great week. :)

Second set on their way....

 Construction day.... ;)

It's been a terrific week of decorating.
I'm so thankful I get to do something I love on a regular basis.
I'm incredibly blessed. :)

Personal Side

I'm in the home stretch.....only two more days of work.
It has been quite a ride.....but I'm doing it.
It feels good to have all this experience under my belt.
But I can't wait to have my time back!

I managed to do a few cookies this week.
They were already baked and frozen from a fews ago.
I confirmed that decorating is truly my therapy.
After Monday's decorating session......I felt so much calmer and at peace. :)

I ordered some photo backdrops from www.inkandelm.com this week.
They are awesome!
I can't wait to show off the photo session from today.

Easter is in two weeks.
March is suddenly half over......
I knew this full time work was going to wipe out my March.....
but it still makes me sad that the time is flying by.
Thankfully my family  is getting together for Easter.....and I can't wait.

Next week, I can start back to "full time cookie-ing".
Yeah!!!! ♥♥♥♥

Instagram photos for this week:

Yummy grain free "granola" made with nuts, pumpkin seeds, coconut,
chia seed, cinnamon, maple syrup, and coconut oil.
Recipe is here

Easter Egg cookies from last year.....

Flower Power!

A favorite cookie......

Yesterday I was contemplating what colors to use for my Easter cookies this week.....
and decided the blouse I was wearing had a great combo.
So today I made those colors in glaze. :)

Doing that texture thing again......

Patterned bunnies and a chick.....spring brings such fun shapes. :)

Dressed up the bunnies and chick. :)

Let's just say that I appreciate a working washing machine now more than ever.
Washing clothes in the sink.....Yuck!

Yeah!!!! I'm lovin' my new backdrops from Ink and Elm.
Thanks @thebakedequation. You're the best. :)

Personal Side
I'm surviving my "full time job" so far. I've worked three days this week....and only have two left.
Wow.....I have a healthy appreciation for all of you working moms out there.....it's tough!

No cookies this week. :(
BUT.....I was able to take last week's cookies in to share with my coworkers on Monday....
and it brought lots and lots of smiles.
That's the best!

I just found out about Operation Cookie Takeover.
It is a wonderful effort to send lots and lots of cookies to our troops in Afghanistan.
Hopefully next week I can plan the cookies and then get them
made & shipped the following week.
The deadline to ship is March 22.....so there's only a window of time.
Maybe some of you can help too.

I've been busy editing tons of cookie photos....so I have lots to share in the coming weeks.
Just gotta get one more week of work done.
What a pleasant relief it will be. :)

Spring patchwork....

Random spring cookies.....

Little lambkin cookies.....

I love to do patterns. :)

Part of my Fabric & Buttons Collection....

I'm excited! Today I made a grain free, low carb, sugar free Brownie Cheesecake!
I'm a happy camper. Something indulgent for a change.....
Here's the recipe for Brownie Cheesecake.

I'm so behind with photo editing......
I'm determined to get caught up by this weekend.
This is my mindless task to do when I finally get off work each day
(after a super mind stretching day of learning new software in the lab).
Thankfully I can listen to loud uplifting music while I do it.  :)

Heehee.... I love these lambs. :)

Springtime Faces Collection: Chick (tutorial)

I'm way overdue in the tutorial department.......so here we go.

Let's make some fun spring cookies
using very basic shapes!

Starting with the simple chick face.....

You will need:

Outline and flood the oval cookies with yellow icing.
Contrary to what the photo shows
(opps....I forgot!)
immediately add the black sugar pearl eyes.
Let dry for at least an hour.

Add outline for beak.
You can make this as small or large as you like.
Allow to dry for 20-30 minutes before filling.

Tada.....the black sugar pearls are suddenly in place. ;)

After the base has dried overnight,
you can add eyebrows or whatever
you'd like to the chick facial expressions.
